Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 10:25 AM MST

Officials for the Douglas Police Dept. are happy to announce that they will be hosting the Driver Training Simulator March 15-21.

The driving simulator will be used to improve training for police officers and public safety employees’ driving behavior both in emergencies and every day driving.

As part of the privilege of having the driving simulator in Douglas, is that the simulator be offered to the public for use in improving their driving techniques.

The driving simulator will be available to the public during March 15-21 between the hours of 5-8 p.m.

Unfortunately, the number of slots available to the public are limited to three persons per day.

Interested persons should complete the required forms at Douglas Police Department by Friday March 12.

The Douglas Police Department is looking forward to sharing this equipment, which is typically used for public safety training, with the general public.  This experience will give the general public insight as to how their local public safety personnel train, while providing an opportunity to improve their own driving techniques.
