Luther Thomas, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away November 13, 2009.


Luther was born to Napoleon and Charlotte Frances Boyer, in Douglas, Arizona, May 25, 1930.

He is survived by his sons Randall and David Thomas, grandsons David and Christopher Thomas, sisters; Pat Carlise and Helen Hurst and brother Ronnie Wiley also his sister-in- law Dorthy and her husband Norman Wilson.

Luther was born and raised in Alabama, then went into military service and while stationed in Denver, Colorado, he married Josephine Rose Boyer, on June 27, 1952 and spent the next 56 plus years with her. Josephine was born and raised in Douglas, Arizona, and passed away in January of 2009. Luther retired from the U.S. Air Force in February of 1970 after 22 years of service then Luther and Josephine returned to Douglas where they stayed until moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 1976. Luther graduated from the University of Arizona in May of 1979.

A Memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. 955, in Douglas, Arizona.
