Bisbee Fiber Festival scheduled May 15

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 3:06 PM MDT

The 18th annual Bisbee Fiber Arts Festival will be held at Vista Park in the Warren neighborhood of Bisbee in conjunction with the Bisbee Farmers Market from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on May 15, 2010.

The Festival will feature local fiber artists demonstrating spinning, weaving and dyeing a variety of fibers.  As in past years, there will be petting lambs, sheep shearing, alpaca and angora rabbits.  Fiber from local area ranchers will be featured including Navajo Churro wool, Wensleydale wool and alpaca fleece.

Lots of hands-on activities will be offered including “Learn to Knit” and “Weave a Rag Rug”.

Our special focus this year is hemp and hemp products. And of course, lots of yarn and items made by Guild members will be for sale.

We are looking forward to this family fun event, so please plan to join us to celebrate the fiber arts!

The Bisbee Fiber Arts Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to the fiber arts, providing education and sanctuary for our members.  The Studio is located on the lower level of the Y Community Center in Old Bisbee at 26 Howell Ave.   www.bisbeefiberarts.com
