Sierra Vista Economic Outlook Luncheon

Free Lecture: Screenwriter Steve Barancik

When: Mon, April 12, 4:45pm & 6:45pm

Where: Sierra Vista Campus Learning Commons, Room 105 (map)

Description: As founder of Monolog Cabin, screenwriter Steve Barancik writes and performs first-person comedy featuring irreverent personal narratives, followed by a discussion of proper story structure and a wide-ranging Q & A. Barancik wrote “The Last Seduction” and has been credited on other films. In 2001, he wrote and produced the TV pilot “Maternal Instinct.” He has worked with Quentin Tarantino, Tony Scott and Barry Levinson, among others. For more information, email kogela@cochise.edu.

Brown Bag Wednesday: African Film Festival Screening of “Bronx Princess”

Description: This 29-minute film is part of the CLL’s African Film Festival, which runs April 11-23. Bronx Princess follows headstrong, 17-year-old Rocky as she leaves behind her mother in New York City to reunite with her father, a chief in Ghana. By confronting her immigrant parents’ ideas of adulthood during her tumultuous summer between high school and college, Rocky must reconcile her African heritage with her dream of independence.
