Regarding the "Immigration Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act" (SB1070), which was signed today by the Arizona Governor, Janice K. Brewer, the Government of Mexico states:
|
|
- The Government of Mexico recognizes the sovereign right of every country to decide the public policy which will be applied within its territory. However, when a measure such as SB1070 potentially affects the human rights of thousands of Mexicans, we cannot remain indifferent.
- Criminalization is not a way to solve the undocumented migration phenomenon. The existence of cross-border labor markets requires integrated and long term solutions. Responsibility, trust and mutual respect must be the basis for addressing shared challenges in North America.
- The violence we have experienced in our common border, which has its origins in both countries, is a great concern. It is imperative to recognize that we face a shared and transnational challenge. In the same way Mexican authorities maintain an unwavering commitment to fight organized crime, authorities in the United States should continue to strengthen their efforts to reduce drug demand and to control illegal weapons, chemical precursors and cash, which provide the organized transnational crime with resources to generate violence and to defy the authorities.
- Illegal transit of goods is far related to the migration phenomenon, we must not forget the enormous contribution of migrants to the economy and society of Arizona. - The Act signed by Governor Janice K. Brewer affects the relationship between Arizona and Mexico and forced the Mexican government to consider the feasibility and utility of the cooperation schemes developed with Arizona. The Act will take effect 90 days after the conclusion of the state legislature sessional period.
- The Government of Mexico will use all resources at its disposal to defend the rights and dignity of Mexicans in Arizona. As the legislative process of SB 1070 moves on, the Embassy of Mexico and the five Consulates of Mexico in Arizona will strengthen its assistance actions, consular protection and legal consultancy.
- The Government of Mexico will continue to watch over the interests of all Mexicans abroad, regardless of their migration status.

if you cut and american we bleed red, if you cut a canadian they bleed red, if you cut an afraican american they bleed red. recon what i am saying is WE ARE ALL GODS CHILDREN. the land we live on doesn't belong to us noway it's just borrowed. the air we breath doesn't belong to us either it's just borrowed. if you want to talk about the welfare and food stamp and drugs than you would have to look at everyone, every where. you blame one mexican getting 10 girls pregnant but that's her fault if she can keep her legs closed. ANY MAN if a woman opens up they stick no matter what color there skin is. yes we may be in resession but it isn't them who put us there, politics and money hungry suit wearing people who think they are the higher preist put us there. as for the korean war it was a waste of good men and women who died just for them to open the gates of pearl harbor and let them in now they stay here and lives with 5 years tax free and they now have many many buisnesses that we once had. yet you don't see many of them working in the hottest of the day just to be free and happy they are the slaves if you want to right where right should be. before knocking mexicans or anyone else for that matter long in the mirror. Yes criminalization is the way to go once they are in the system we can then track them and make them pay for their other crimes should they return.
He,their president, speaks of controlling the illegal weapons, Heck he need to control his illegal aliens that are coming north instead of giving them the green light when the guards are at a different point.
Would some one please tell me, inform me, advise me as to what ther enormous contribution they make to our society, other than the hundreds of illegal anchor/babies so they can get S/S benefits for them at the rate of 650.00$ per child per month plus welfare, medicade and a free education. Please help me folks I have watched this for 50 + years here in Texas, I am 72 now& they give very little and take so much.LETS US RID OUR NATION OF ALL THE CRIMINAL AND ILLEGAL ALIENS BEFORE THEY BREAK OUR NATION AS THEY HAVE BROKE MEXICO. Elites that hire ILLEGAL ALIENS do so for cheap illegal labor
However, the fact that ILLEGAL ALIENS in USA are living in
extreme overcrowding, homeless, ...
Means they have worse housing then slaves had prior to 1865 in the USA.
ILLEGAL ALIENS in USA getting food stamps and welfare to eat, means they
are treated worse then slaves prior to 1865 because slaves were fed on the plantation.
ILLEGAL ALIENS in USA getting clothing from donation organizations and donation
boxes sitting in various parking lots, again means they are not being paid enough
to get their own clothing, which is worse than slaves prior to 1865 when their masters
clothed them.
Support exploiting illegal aliens via amnesty citizenship, via another visa
guest worker program, via permitting anchor babies, you are PRO SLAVERY.
You should be fighting for HUMAN RIGHTS in Mexico, Guatemala, Vietnam, etc.
So poor people do not have to be ILLEGALLY ENSLAVED in the USA "

I’m a Mexican AMERICAN female- born and raised in CA. My parents were born here, my grandparents were born here and so were their parents. I speak fluent English, eat pizza, hot dogs, and love the diverse melting pot we call America.
What sickens me is how things can get so blown out of proportion so quickly. One governor signs a bill and the whole country suddenly makes it their #1 issue of debate. Suddenly everyone is a racist, a bigot, filled with hatred about something that was hardly an issue a mere month ago.
What’s my opinion on the immigration law? Yes, we need some type of reform. Yes, illegal immigrants should seek to become citizens, or return to their homeland. Yes, Mexico is a major source of drugs brought into the US and our borders need to be more secured.
Nonetheless, this type of reform should be tackled at the Federal level, not by Arizona alone. We have allowed immigrants into our land from all countries- not just Mexico. To single out one group of people is racist and profiling and unjust. Now Jan Brewer also wants to get rid of ethnic classes. What’s wrong with this racist? Hasn’t she stirred enough controversy already?
Mexican Immigrants are not our enemies. They come here not to steal your jobs or ask for handouts, or get on welfare. They come here to work, and to seek better opportunities from America- the land of the free.
When was the last time you were at a stop light and saw a Mexican Immigrant begging for money? Never! Why, because they are proud, decent, and hard working people.
America has thrived on the immigrant’s back for years, and now we want to cast them off because one state decides to single out an entire race as the enemy?
Every race has bad apples in the bunch. Mexican drug cartels are a reality and should be dealt with, but don’t punish the father and husband standing outside Home Depot at 6:00am to find work to provide food on the table and a roof over his family’s head.
If immigration reform is a hot topic then it should be addressed by the president of the US and it should address ALL immigrants, not just those from Mexico.
Wake up people! We are already in a recession. What do you think would happen if we sent all illegal immigrants to their homeland?
I think we have our priorities all mixed up. Last I checked, it wasn’t illegal Mexicans trying to blow up New York City. We need to focus on who our real enemies are and stop the hate!
It’s 2010, and yet I feel as if I must have stepped out of a time machine back to days of racism and oppression. It’s a sad day when I am hated and profiled because the color of my skin.
Has history taught us nothing? The saying holds true, those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it. "

It is an infringement on civil rights to profile and stop any vehicle due to just their looks. So lets make it clear, NO LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER will be jeoparidzing their job by stopping a vehicle by profiling the driver or occupants that are hispanic or brown. This is about as stupid as me or you going to Mexico to live......a disaster and stupid action.
As far as carrying proper documentation with you to prove legal status in the U.S., well WHY NOT? We already have to carry a driver's license plus insurance when we drive a vehicle. Proper Identification to come into our own country, to make major purchases, to use a credit card, to obtain any kind of benfits, to go through air ports, I even need proper docuementation to pick up my grand children from school. Inconvenience? So what...it is the law. In case you have noticed terrorist are continuously planning to attack our country. The majority of our crimes are done with falsification of identification. So should we give illegal aliens the right to have to idenitfy themselves properly? Wait until an illegal alien comitts a crime against you or your family then you will see how they get away with it, because we have no way of identifying the criminals.
So WHY? is it such a big thing for someone to have proper legal status documentation in the U.S.? UNLESS....you are ILLEGAL and have no legal claim to being here in the first place. Then maybe this is where the great MEXICAN Government Official should help the illegal Mexican alien in the U.S. by taking them back and assist them by getting them proper docuemntation to come into the U.S. legally! In other words get them in line like many other are doing so, the right way and not the illegal way.
And lastly let me say I too would give my life for my country, but girlfriend I have worked very hard and kept my faith in the system. Although it appears now the American people are losing faith because there is too much crime, losing of benefits and paying too much taxes AND the majority of this is due to illegal immigration.
Lets try to make sense out of all this before the entire country turns out to have all the problems California is having. "

Have you considered Arizona State Driver's Licensing (everyone driving in the US must have some kind of residency card or citizenship, right? Or how about the Schools System, there are many people from Mexico attending our schools illegally in Arizona and Texas, how about requiring proof of citizenship/residency? Although, I understand the frustration with illegal immigration, stopping one kind of person (Latino) with probable cause, is discrimination. Not all of us (Mexican) are here illegally, but it is kinda difficult to carry our Naturalization Certificate with us at all times, or how are we native born supposed to prove citizenship? Social Security Cards? You know how many people have fake forms of identification? Probable cause? You know how many racist police officers you have out there, take a look at the Sheriff. How about discussing issues with Mrs. Napolitano, I am sure she knows the situation in AZ and other border towns and can probably do more from her current position.
Does Arizona accept anyone other than whites? First, AZ was the last to accept MLK as a holiday and now it's another group of non-white skin. I recommend that you and Sheriff Arpaio leave this country, we do want you misrepresenting OUR America and violating OUR Rights! ADIOS AMIGA (means Good - bye Friend).

Why do you think they leave Mexico in the first place??? Because your country is so corrupt and leaves them to die. They come here to the 'land of opportunity' but unfortunately they BREAK THE LAW upon entering the country ILLEGALLY. "
