Hoyack selected as People-to-People Student leader

Hoyack has been accepted into the People to People Leadership Summit in Columbia University-New York, N.Y. and George Washington University- Wash. D.C., June 15-24. He was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.

People to People Student Leaders complete an academically rigorous program focused on leadership development and global awareness. The program brings together outstanding student leaders from around the globe to focus on leadership, teambuilding, community service, college admissions and professional aspirations.

Participants also gain insights to guide their educational and professional careers, and benefit from a strong focus on college admissions. Through workshops, presentations, excursions and discussions student leaders attain a clear advantage as they pursue their selected fields of interest.

Hoyack, while in high school has been involved in Academic Decathlon, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, Med Club, Key Club, Junior Varsity/Varsity Tennis, Big Dawg Squad/Ignite Mentor, Ignite Executive Mentor, DECA, Environmental Club. He was President of his class during his freshman and junior years and Treasurer during his sophomore year. He is currently attending Boy’s State in Flagstaff, Ariz.

He volunteers at his church, with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and Douglas ARC. He is a member of the Douglas Area Democrats and the Desert Stars 4-H Club. Hoyack enjoys tennis, swimming, hunting and fishing.

His teacher Ms. Molina nominated Hoyack for People to People. She teaches Civics, Economics, Leadership and is a Student Council Advisor.
