Secondly, the "cracker" comment is pretty sad. Why make race such an issue? The new principal seems very nice and has good experience.
Finally, parents cannot just walk into classes not because the school is hiding something, but because there are insurance and federal policies that make it tough for a school to just freely allow visitors. Parents can come, but it must be cleared, etc. In fact, some teachers request for parents to watch if there have been behavior issues.
Support your local schools- they are doing their best with a shrinking budget. DHS has been Performing Plus for the past three years- not exactly a reflection of teachers not teaching. And- what would you like teachers to do while your students read silently- stare at them? It's generally 15 minutes and studies have shown that that time of SSR has greatly impacted reading scores- an area in which all students seem to need improvement. "

i know people abuse their right to use school computers for personal use during work hours; i see it at my place of employment. i am sure teachers probably chat online throughout the day, not to mention texting. if there are rules for students regarding cell phones, (i know huber has such rules), the same should apply for teachers/staff. our students deserve your full attention!
