Enrique Bustamante Quijada

A loving husband and doting father to his children. Enrique was a highly principled and moral man who devoted his entire life to God and his family. He worked for 32 years at the Phelps-Dodge smelter in Douglas before retiring in 1984. He achieved a 4th degree knighthood at the Knights of Columbus and served terms as president of the Sociedad Mutualista de los Obreros Mexicanos and the Club Alba. Through his firm beliefs and by way of his constant example, he imparted to his children a deep and profound love of nature, a rejuvenating appreciation of the little things in life that most people overlook, as well as the priceless value and deeply rooted sense of family that has held us together through many trials and tragedies. His lessons to us will continue to be handed down to our children and their children, thereby keeping his memory alive in all of us as we love and honor him throughout our lives.
