Double Adobe
Quilt Show
March 5

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 2:55 PM MST

The Double Adobe Quilters will hold their 31st annual

quilt and craft show on Saturday, March 5, from 9 to 4 at the

historic old Double Adobe School, located on the corner of

Central Highway and Double Adobe Road.

The future of the group looked rather uncertain in June,

2010, after their meeting house burned to the ground, taking

all their equipment and materials, sales items, and the almost

finished crazy quilt, which was to have been the fund raiser

quilt for the 2011 show.

However, within the week some of the group had started a

new crazy quilt, using their personal fabrics. They had been

donated a temporary meeting house, and donations of fabrics

and quilting equipment had started coming in. Apermanent

meeting house was donated in July, and they moved into that

in early August.

The new crazy quilt is complete and the show will go on.

Donations continue to come in, and the group is busy as usual

with an assortment of sewing and quilting project. The

public is invited to join these intrepid ladies at their annual

show. Handicapped access, children welcome, live music,

lunch for sale by the Double Adobe 4-H. Local vendors will

be selling their crafts.
