Samantha Cardenas showed her good heart when on Saturday,


Francisco Barrios/Douglas Dispatch Samantha Cardenas who turned 16 this past weekend stands with mother, Michelle Cardenas. Michelle says she’s very proud of Samantha’s actions in behalf of others in need.

February 26 she celebrated her 16th

Birthday party by asking people to

donate diapers and children toys instead of any other present.

When Samantha shared this idea to all her friends they

were very supportive of the idea.

“My friends were really very excited about it and they said

it was really good that someone is actually doing something

for someone else.”

This humble action made by Samantha will directly benefit

the House of Hope, since all the goods collected at her

party will be donated to the institution to recognize the great

effort the House of Hope does to help others in need.

“I thought it was a good idea to give back to them because

they do so much for everyone in our community.”

It is much better to see an invitation asking for donations for others than an invitation requesting for money instead of gifts. You will go far and I am proud of your accomplishment. Way to go Kid!!
