The City of Douglas continues


work on various projects.

This work is being

completed by the Department

of Public Works and is

part of the Mayor and Council’s

ongoing infrastructure

improvement program.

Temporary Traffic

Control Measures

In an effort to alleviate

traffic, all vehicles traveling

southbound to access the

Port of Entry will be diverted

to 3rd Street via Chino

Road. This traffic access

will be “One-Way” from

Chino Road to Pan American

Avenue. Commercial

traffic is already being diverted

to 3rd Street via H

Avenue.

Curbing Installation

Curb, gutter and sidewalk

installation continues on

20th Street from Laura Avenue

to Eddie Avenue.

Construction hours are from

7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday

through Friday. No

parking is allowed within

the construction limits and

vehicular traffic is restricted

along project limits. Vehicles

parked within the project

limits WILL BE

TOWED AWAY.

Manhole Work

/Valve Boxes

Raising manholes and

valve boxes is being done on

21st Street from Louis Avenue

to Washington Avenue.

Fire hydrant and water

system maintenance also

continues along with miscellaneous

concrete repairs,

pothole patching, and graffiti

cleanup throughout the

city. If you have questions,

please contact the Department

of Public Works at

417-7329. Should problems

arise with water and/or sewer

services on the weekend

or a holiday, please contact

the Douglas Police Department

at 417-7550, and staff

on call will be dispatched to

your residence.

The City asks that you

please obey all construction

detours and use caution

while driving or walking

through these construction

zones. Please help keep

everyone safe.
