Marching, jazz bands need help getting to Disneyland

For the second year in a row the Marching Band and the Jazz Band from the Douglas High School is planning its annual educational trip to Disneyland on May 13. In order to be able to travel both groups, guided by Emilio Gonzalez, Music Director for DHS are getting donations to raise the money necessary for the trip.

In the picture the DHS group is with Dr. April Alvarez, from the Chiricahua Community Health Center next to Emilio Gonzalez. Band representatives included Carolina Davalos, Damari Carrillo, Guadalupe Ayal, Alma Chavez,Frankie, Grijalva, Emilio Gonzalez, Music Director for DHS, Carla Escogido, Joanna Rocha and Jazmin Corro.

The group is supported by the Douglas High School Parent Booster Band Club, which has collected around $2,500 for this trip, being the goal of $6,000. Ana Grijalva, President of the Club said “So far we have received donations from Dr. Alfred Wu and Dr. Frank E. Molls from the Douglas Family Care Clinic, as well as from Dr. April Alvarez from Chiricahua Community Health Center. Another donation came from Oxicheck Northwest, DME from Bisbee and we are very grateful for their help.

Last year we collected $6,200 for the trip so now we still need little bit more over $3,500 to accomplish the goal.”
