Bianka Tanori/Douglas Dispatch Edmond Garcia, Javier Campbell and Frank Bruno were on hand at the cemetery meeting to express their concern about any changes.
Those rumors included gravel replacing the grass in some sections of the cemetery had some people angry and demanding to make sure this was not going to happen.
Chavez, confirmed that it was in fact a rumor. “Nobody is doing anything to the green grass that the members of Douglas have worked so hard to make look so nice. After all when it comes to their loved ones, people will go to any lengths to make sure that their lots are safe and untouched.”
Christy Rios said, “It’s so easy for us to be targets of rumors such as these because these grounds hold the people that we love and would do anything to protect.” Edmond Garcia stated, “People get very emotional when it comes to their loved ones here at the cemetery, and we came here today to make sure that they would not do anything to disrupt the way things are here.”
Chavez also expressed to the people that they will soon have an office there at the cemetery for those that need assistance. Some of the people that came to the meeting also had some thoughts and concerns about the cemetery.
Javier Cambell voiced his concern about the way people bring their dogs to cemetery and use the restroom anywhere, which is disrespectful. He mentioned that perhaps something can be done to avoid this problem.
