Tickets limited for annual dinner

Tickets are still available for the Greater Douglas Chamber of Commerce (GDCOC) Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, April 15, at the Douglas Country Club.

Honorees this year include:

Man of the Year - Life Time Achievement: J. Everett Jones

Woman of the Year- Life Time Achievement: Lucia Spikes

Large Business of the Year: Wal-Mart Juan Hernandez, Manager

Small Business of the Year: Mi Ranchito Meat Market Tommy and Margie Zamora, Owners

New Business of the Year: Caffenio Maria Fernanda Elias Manager

Special Recognitions this Year: Mexican Consulate and The City of Douglas

The Chamber Dinner Committee and the Staff of the Douglas Country Club have come up with a dinner menu with two choices this year as we are in the Lenten season: Grilled Tilapia with a Mango Chile Salsa served along with an oregano lentil salad topped with crisp red and yellow peppers, and steamed asparagus, or Grilled Chicken breast with a Cranberry-Pomegranate Glaze along with rice pilaf and steamed asparagus. Both entrée choices feature a lovely Starter Salad of crisp greens, red, yellow, and green peppers, shredded cheddar and crunchy croutons, desert will be caramel apple cheesecake with Caramel sauce.

The Recognition Dinner will be held at the Douglas Country Club, 1372 E. Fairway Drive beginning with a no host cocktail from 6-7 pm. Dinner and Award presentations will begin at 7 pm. Nightlife will be the entertainment, a well known band in Cochise County, and will play until midnight.

A limited number of tickets are still available for the banquet. Tickets to the event are available from any Chamber member: Josue Lopez, Kathleen Gomez, Vicky Merritt, Holly Berryhill, Sheila Rogers, Juan Hernandez, Bob Burk or from committee members Irene Garcia, Kristine Gomez and Beth Phagan. Price of the ticket is $30 per person. Tickets may be purchased with a credit card from the website: www.douglasazchamber.org or by calling Vicky Merritt at 249-5924 or Kathleen Gomez at 456-6818.
