Submitted photo Quinceañeras are a very popular celebration within Douglas and Agua Prieta areas. The Douglas Dispatch offers a free photo and story in the publication.

Quinceañera parties are very popular in Douglas and Agua Prieta. It’s the perfect time to spent time with family members, but most important, to celebrate the passage for fifteenth birthday of any daughter related to the family. It is believed that a girl who celebrates this special occasion enters as a child but emerges as a young woman with new responsibilities. Also, weddings are a fundamental aspect of our society, therefore is very important to share with the community the happiness a wedding represents.

Both celebrations traditionally begin with a religious ceremony. After that, a reception is held at the family home or in a banquet hall.

The Douglas Dispatch is thankful to those who have submitted an article to us and is very interested in keeping the space open in the newspaper to the public so they can submit photos related to Quinceañeras and weddings celebration.

“If any Douglas or Agua Prieta family wishes to share the joy of having a Quinceañera they can do it for free in our newspaper” says Larry Blaskey, editor of the Douglas Dispatch. “Also we are offering the same service to newly married couples.”

Photos can be either the banquet or the religious ceremony. It must include a brief caption to go along with the picture identifying those in the photo. You can send your picture for free at douglasdispatch@hotmail.com with attention to Francisco Barrios or call the Douglas Dispatch at (520) 364-3424.
