More than 2,000 pounds of food was collected during a joint Southwest Gas and Salvation Army food drive earlier this month. As part of Southwest Gas Corporation's 80th anniversary celebration, the Blue Crew (employee volunteer team Building Lives Up Everywhere) is coordinating the first Salvation Army food drive for the community of Douglas. A number of other community members supporting the drive. Collection bins were located at Douglas PPEP-TEC, Southwest Gas, APS, Wal-Mart, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Customs, Omega Alpha Academy, Douglas Unified School District, City Of Douglas and Douglas Fire Department. The food will be distributed by the Salvation Army at 1000 Pan American Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pictured at the new facility is Maria Valencia, Salvation Army; Efrem Ruiz, Sr., Joe Salcido, John Sproul, Sammy Cox, and Marisa Zepeda, Southwest Gas; Tina Jaime and Anna Luna, Salvation Army; and Jody Godoy, Southwest Gas.
