On Friday, April 15, the volunteer women from the Immaculate Conception Church prepared plates for those that don't eat meat for Lent.

Bianka Tanori/Douglas Dispatch Maria Pineda, Angela Martinez, Juanita Rivera, Celia Esqueda, Carmen Roman, Ana Hurtado, Ana Tapia, Maria Saad, Clarissa Quijada, Pilar Sanchez, Irma Gonzalez, Adelina Quijada, and Cecilia Carnal prepared traditional Mexican meals for Lent.

The plates consisted of three enchiladas, rice, and beans with desert being "capirotada." Each plate was $6 with proceeds going to the Church's funds. The women volunteered their time to cook and prepare the "Sinaloence" style plates and had a great time doing it together.
