Pediatric Center of Excellence here for children

Open since June 6, the Chiricahua Community Health Center is proud to have one more facility to help sustain the good health in Douglas’ kids. The new Pediatric Center of Excellence is now open to take care of children and teens from 0 “ 21 years old.

Jonathan Lee-Melk, MD FAAP, Director of Community Pediatrics, said with the remodeling of the old school building Chiricahua Health Center has a great opportunity to provide the best service available with its top-notch medical equipment handled by a very capable staff. “We have seven pediatric providers and four of them are specialized pediatricians.”

Community pediatric medical staff is Jonathan Lee-Melk, MD FAAP; April Alvarez-Corona, MD; Darlene Ray, MD; John Seward, MD; Dia Madden, FNP-C; Carlos Peña, PA-C; Jane Williamson-Davenport, FNP. Also, in august, new Chiricahua member Anne Welch, MD will join the team at the Pediatric Center.

Today, the 15th Street Pediatric Center of Excellence offers the following quality services:

√ Care coordination for children with special healthcare needs.

√ Preventive medicine

√ Well child check ups

√ Immunizations

√ Patient assistance program

It also provides physical test like sports; school and headStart; laboratory services; school hearing & vision screenings.

Finally, it also provides with referral services; AHCCCS eligibility assistance and it offers Dental services as well.

The hours of operation for the center are Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In order to receive any of the services offered, insured as well as uninsured patients can call at (520) 364-5437 (KIDS).
