Emergency personnel were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. to find an unoccupied warehouse with part of its roof missing. A good portion of it was in the street on H Ave. forcing local law enforcement to get out in the heavy rain and close off the area.
H Ave where the section of roof was lying remained closed Friday morning.
Law enforcement personnel said gusty winds that were part of Thursday's storm caused the damage.
Around 10 P.M. Friday evening emergency personnel were called to a swift water rescue on Washington and 34th Street in Bay Acres.
A Jeep Loreto attempted to make it through a flooded section on Washington only to be stalled by the rushing current.
Crews from the Douglas Fire Department responded to the scene and helped get the three male occupants of the vehicle to safety without any injuries.
Weather officials around southern Arizona estimate Douglas may have had anywhere from an inch to two inches of rain Thursday, Friday and Saturday depending on the location.
More storms are on tap for this week.
