Beloved Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and special friend to so very many, EVELYN LAMAR RICHINS HERBERT, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Southeast Medical Center. Evelyn was born on August 22, 1922 in Chandler, Arizona to Wellington B. Richins and Edith Winifred Mortensen Richins. She is survived by her husband George Melvin Herbert; Brother, Duane Richins of Mesa; Brother-in-Law Wilson Herbert of Douglas and Sister-in-Law, Cleo Duthie of Safford. She is also survived by her daughters, Penny (Julius) Maklary of Douglas; Diane (Reid) Kempton of Yuma and Sherri (Don) Driggs of Yuma. She leaves behind 10 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Cleone Magnusson and Irma Harris both of Phoenix. Evelyn was a graduate of Mesa High School. Evelyn married George Melvin Herbert in the Mesa Temple on November 22, 1940, a marriage that lasted 71 years. Evelyn was first and foremost a homemaker, she also worked in a doctor’s office, was a companion to Mrs. Lavender, worked at Flower Lane Florist, was the exhibits secretary for the Cochise County Fair and was an election board worker for elections. She loved sunsets and nature. Evelyn, lovingly known as Mouse, was loved by so very many and will be greatly missed by us all. We will remember in our own special way her voice, her style, her laugh, her smile, her words, her grace, her eyes, her face, her love, her life, and everything that made her so special in all our lives will live on through our memories. Please rest in peace until we meet again. Funeral Services were held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Brown Page Mortuary Chapel. Pallbearers who served were Bryan Babicky, Scott Babicky, Dan Collingridge, Tyler Coniam, Matthew Driggs, Cole Hunt, Dustin Maklary and Zack Vega. Honorary Pallbearers were Julius Maklary, Reid Kempton, Don Driggs, Wilson Herbert, Duane Richins, Wayne Magnusson, Scott Coniam, Donnie Huish, Troy Driggs, Larry Miller, Michael Coniam, and Bryan Babicky, Jr.



Brown Page Mortuary was in charge of arrangements, 364-3434.

    " I'm so sorry I didn't find out about this until today (Jan. 30th); I would have done everything I could to be there for the funeral. I will always think of her as my second mother and I will miss her phone calls. My prayers go out to all the family. "
