The Douglas High School boys soccer team fell Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2-1 to the Scottsdale Coronado Dons in the state semifinals.


The Bulldogs were looking for their third state championship since 2006.

Douglas struck first with a goal three minutes into the match. Scottsdale tied it seven minutes later and then scored what proved to be the game winner with eight minutes remaining.

Douglas ends its season with a 17-7 record.

In girls basketball action the second seeded Douglas Lady Bulldogs fell 48-28 to the seventh seeded Queen Creek Lady Bulldogs Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Flowing Wells High School in the first round of Division II Section I tournament.

Douglas must now wait to see where it will play in the state tournament next week.

The Douglas Bulldogs fell 69-55 to the Salpointe Lancers Wednesday, Feb. 8 in the first round of Division II Section I tournament also at Flowing Wells High School.

The Bulldogs must also wait now to see where they will play in next weeks state tournament.
