Coqui Child Care Center opens By Francisco BarriosDouglas Dispatch A child’s education in early stages of life is a very important aspect to develop. And Douglas has a new place to do so: Coqui Child Care Center, located in 721 11th St. which opened its doors on January 9. According to Director, Maria G. Bejarano the center has a high-quality service to offer to parents and their children from newborn to 13 years old that includes not only child care but also the opportunity to acquire knowledge through games and fun. “We provide to the children with several study-areas that include drama, arts, science, games, reading, so they can develop basic learning skills,” Bejarano said. “We also work on a daily lesson plan, in which we develop a weekly project that will help the children to find their own identity to develop social skills. We wish that our children can develop themselves as unique persons with all their qualities and abilities.” Bejarano said that the center also offers experience and a safety environment. Staff has a professional experience in child care field ranging from 4-13 years. “Our employees come from public schools and they love to work with kids,” she said. “Besides, we ask the parents to come at least once a week to observe the way we provide our service to their children so they can be confident that we work on behalf of them.” To offer the best possible service, Coqui Child Care Center is approved by the Health’s Department and complies with state requirements. Operation days and hours are Monday-Friday from 6-6 p.m. and it provides breakfast at 8 a.m.; snack time at 10 a.m.; lunch at noon and snack time at 2 p.m. “Everyone is welcome to come and visit us and get to know our facilities; our doors are open to answer to your questions and we are at people’s service,” concluded Bejarano.
