Goodbye to Sam

Dear Editor:

Saturday, February 4th some of the community of Pirtleville and Douglas, among family and friends from Tucson, gathered at Sacred Hearth Cemetery to bid a Farewell to our Brother/Father/Friend, Sam Navarro.

The Ft. Huachuca Flag Detail as well as the American Legion Post 11 Honor Guard and the Croco Boys Organization participated with prayer services by Tony Esqueda.

Special thanks to all who joined us in this celebration for Sams, especially the committee who hosted a reunion at the El Vecino Bar Ramada and donated food and money. Croco Boys, who helped are Pancho Aparicio, Raul Enriquez, Tony Mar Gomez, Guty Sanchez, Robert Frias, Don Valenzuela and myself

A big thank you to Rosa Garcia for the great meal prepared and served, including a beautiful cake with photo of Sam. Also donating were Miny Guerrero and Becky Gutierrez and Emma Hook, helping to serve. Also thanks Mr. and Mrs. Armando Alvarado.

May God Bless you all – we will miss Sam.
