Letter from Richard Lopez To the Douglas City Council and Dispatch Editor. Dear Sir, During one of the meetings lately Mr. LaForge and Mr. Lindenmann asserted that the Finance Committee was not needed as the long standing resolution indicated. This resolution stated that the Finance Committee would monitor the annual budget and meet four quarterly meeting throughout the year. Mr. La Forge went as far as to say that a Finance Committee was not needed at all. Apparently he is not familiar with the City Charter. The Charter demands that the Finance Committee is a standing committee and cannot be abolished. He suggested that the citizens should not have any input or have a watch dog looking over Administrative shoulders. Mr. Lindenmanri apparently feels that the Management at City Hall does not want to be interfered with. WHERE is the transparency? Mr. Lindenmann will have you believe that a meeting can be called during the year if needed but you must remember that He or the Administrative Staff are the only ones that can call a meeting during the Year. At a recent meeting of Council Chambers Mr. Laforge was accompanied by persons associated with Border Operation Network. These People believe that our Border should be open to any one that wants to come into our country. By the same token Mr. Lindenmann also was the Guest of the Local organization of that entity. He told the media that he supported Border Operation Network. I wonder if both take the oath of office seriously and that is to Support the Constitution of this great Country and protect the Citizens from all enemies. Carrying the Flag of this Great State of Arizona UPSIDE DOWN is way short of Supporting our great Nation. This is a slap in the face of all veterans who gave their lives and those who served to protect us as this office demands. Richard Lopez
