HILDA N. DIAZ Hilda N. Diaz passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Hilda was born on October 4, 1925 in Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico to Manuel and Hortencia Ballesteros Noriega. She was very active at the Immaculate Conception Church, was a Cursillista involved in the Curisillo movement, she was active in the Democratic Party volunteering in the polling locations for all city and federal elections. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband David H. Diaz and lived for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Hortencia Ballesteros Noriega, Son Daniel A. Diaz, Brother Adolfo Noriega, Sisters Bertha Mata and Norma Torres. Her surviving family includes her children, Celia (Charles E.) Austin, Laura (Mario) Merino, and David (Mary Ann) Diaz, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, Siblings Manuel “Baby” Noriega, Father Arnoldo Noriega, Panchita Rodriguez, Clarissa Mercer, Graciela Enriquez along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary for Hilda will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012 also at Immaculate Conception Church with her brother Father Arnoldo Noriega officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers who will serve are Peter Austin, Joey Rodriguez, Christopher Austin, Manny Rodriguez, Sebastian Austin, David Andrew Diaz and Joseph M. Diaz.
