16TH Annual soup kitchen planned for February Submitted ArticleThe 16th annual Soup Kitchen is planned for February 13, 14, and 15. This annual Portal Rescue fundraiser includes a raffle with eighteen fabulous prizes, three days of delicious meals for only $7 and an ideal opportunity for community members and friends to give their annual, tax-deductible contribution. Raffle Prizes This year the raffle eighteen prizes include: two free nights for two at Cave Creek ranch, an original watercolor by Marge Fagan, one night at Birders B&B with gourmet breakfast, an original Acrylic painting on flagstone by Terry Miller, a print by Dave Utterback, a print by Bill Davis, a print by Roger McKasson, a carving by Bill Reinbold, a treasure necklace by Chris Rogers, a handmade Kaleidoscope, an original Watercolor by Cathy Reinbold, a handcrafted Crocheted Afghan; a $100.00 gift certificate donated by Chiricahua Desert Museum, a Quilted Tote crafted by Stevie Wayman, $100 worth of Arizona Lottery Tickets, two prizes for cat or dog exams and vaccinations donated by Dr. Michael John of High Dessert Vet Service, and a Let’s Eat Out prize consisting of breakfast for two at the Rodeo Café, lunch for two at the Portal Café, and dinner for two at the Rodeo Tavern, and two original 11”x14”photographs by Fred and Pat Espenak. Tickets are only $1 each and will be sold starting January 31 at the Rodeo Tavern, the Rodeo Market/Café and the Portal Post Office. The Soup Kitchen will serve patrons two savory soups, two delectable breads, a beverage and dessert for only $7 on February 13, 14, and 15 between 11:30 and 1:30 at the Portal Rescue Classroom in Portal, AZ.
