Councilman Huish explains why he is not seeking re-election

Dear Editor: Due to the fact that a number of people have asked why I am not running for Councilman in Ward 5 I think it is time to set the record straight. The reason that I am not running has nothing to do with a lack of desire to serve, or due to my health. It is simply due to the fact that the City or Douglas Charter will not allow me to run again. It states that a council person may not serve more than two consecutive terms in office. I will complete my second consecutive term in June of this year.
