ACT Call Center celebrates graduation of recruits By Francisco BarriosDouglas Dispatch Advanced Call Center Technologies, LLC offered a graduation party on February 8 to 31 new employees who completed their two-week training classes recently and who are already working in one of the many departments at the Call Center. ACT Operations Manager Steven McGivern said that this was a special recognition to the great effort new employees showed in their training. He said they set up two tables with a full display of food provided by local businesses; they also enjoyed live music and a Valentine ’s Day type decoration. “We decorated with flowers and balloons, so it was something like the appreciation, Valentine’s graduation class party,” McGivern said. McGivern and the newly appointed ACT Recruiter Angelica Villareal said that it is fun to organize this type of celebration with their employees to promote friendship and health competition and at the same time promote a friendly and relaxed work environment. “But the most important thing is that we have the opportunity to reward each individual for their constant efforts,” Villareal said. McGivern remarked that through these type of recognition ACT’s intention is to let their employees know that they are the most important part of the relationship created between ACT, the City of Douglas and the Company’s customers. “These three powerhouses the opportunity to make Douglas a place where life can be better through good job opportunities,” he said. “And all three enhance the relationship with our employees.” Recruitment process open Villareal informed that ACT has a permanently open recruitment process to ensure that all interested people who have the desire of working hard, who are goal oriented and take pride in their work have the opportunity to be part of their fun and professional office environment. She said that the ideal candidate is that person who has a great work ethic, be at least 18 years old of age, has a high school diploma or GED, and has computer experience in a Windows environment. “There is work with full-time benefits and room for advancement,” said Villareal. “ACT does recognize talent and experience.
