An estimated 200 people had the chance to be part of a once-in-a-life event to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Arizona’s statehood on February 14 at the Douglas Art Gallery.

People were invited to stay at the end of the event to release a balloon with a glow stick attached to it and to honk their car horns; to help with this, the Douglas Fire Department made its presence with a fire truck to blow it’s siren at the same time with the people who attended.
More to come
The Douglas Centennial Committee informed that they have more activities to come through the year to keep celebrating the centennial.
The next event is the Arizona Centennial Party, this Saturday from 8-12 at the Knight of Columbus on F Ave.
People will have the opportunity to dance and sing their favorite classic Rock ‘n Roll music presented by ROCKUS Band. There will be a cash bar with beer and wine and everyone can bring their own snacks. Entrance is $10 per person and all proceeds will go to funding events during the October’s Month of Centennial Celebrations.
For tickets, please call (520) 456-6818.
