DHS Principal Schneider resigns By Bruce WhettenDouglas Dispatch Douglas Unified School Superintendent Sheila Rogers confirmed Friday that Douglas High School Principal Ralph Schneider resigned Thursday. The resignation is effective immediately. Schneider came to Douglas in July 2010 from Phoenix where he was the Educational Consultant/Marketing Director for Teen AA, a program designed to assist students with addictive behaviors. He was hired to replace Bonnie Lopez who was moved up to assistant superintendent for the district. Superintendent Rogers said Schneider made the decision to resign at this time of the year for personal reasons. “I have every confidence that the transition will be smooth,” she said. “Randy Walker, DHS Assistant Principal, will assume the principal position for the remainder of this school year. Judy Herbert, a retired DUSD Administrator, has agreed to come back to the District as the assistant principal replacing Walker’s position. With Melissa Rodriquez, Assistant Principal, Douglas High School will be fully staffed administratively.” Rogers went on to say she has confidence that the Douglas High School faculty and staff will pull together to ensure that our children continue to obtain a quality education. |
