Two new constructions taking place in Douglas By Francisco BarriosDouglas Dispatch Two new constructions in Douglas will host one new business and the relocation of another one in the near future. According to Chief Building Inspector for the City of Douglas, Robert Martin, the new building under construction located at 303 16th St. will serve as the new location for the Douglas Insurance Center currently located at 14th St. and F Avenue. Martin said the new location will also serve as a convenience store besides the insurance company, but at a later time. It is expected the Insurance Center to begin operating in the new building by the end of June of this year. Martin said that the second construction taking place is the remodeling of the old National Bank of Arizona located at 1111 F Avenue, which will serve as the PIMA Heart House Hospital’s new office in Douglas. Currently, PIMA Heart physicians come from their Tucson’s location to treat Douglas’s patients once a month at Dr. Wu’s Healt Clinic, located at 1906 E. 11th St. “This building is under a remodeling process at the interior with upgrades on the walls, the electrical systems, all the plumbing and that is what is going to be, a Hearth Clinic,” Martin said. He said that the remodeling process is expected to be concluded by the first part of May of this year. |
