Bulldog netters down Benson

Despite being on Spring Break last week the Douglas Bulldog tennis team hosted Benson in a match March 14 at the DHS tennis courts.

The Douglas Bulldogs knocked off the Bobcats 7-2.

John Owen, playing No.1 singles for Douglas, won his match 6-2, 6-4.

Edwin Celado, playing at the No. 2 spot, was a 6-4, 6-4 winner.

Jesus Moreno playing at No. 3 singles won 6-4, 6-2.

Lucas Grijalva won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

Diego Luy was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at No. 5 singles and Ben Rivera won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

In doubles play Owen and Celado won 8-5.

Moreno and Grijalva lost 2-8 at No. 2 doubles.

Luy and Diego Tostado fell 5-6 at No. 3 doubles.

The Bulldogs had just one match this week which was played on March 19.

The DHS tennis team will host Tombstone March 26 and Valley Union March 27.
