Little League tryouts Saturday

The Douglas Little League will be holding tryouts for the 2012 baseball season this Saturday, March 17 at the Ramon "Monchi" Gonzales field (15th street park).

The tryout schedule will be as follows: 9 a.m.: all 7-8 year olds; 10:30 a.m. all 9-10 year olds; 12 noon: 11-12 year olds.

League officials say if a child is a returning player to the 11-12 age group, they need not be present for tryouts as they will remain on the same team as last year.

The 13 and 14 year olds will have tryouts at a later date.

Children who do not attend the tryouts on this date will be put in a blind draft.

The draft will be held at the ICE building on the same date and only managers will be allowed to attend to select their players. The time for age groups will be given at the tryouts.

All parents who still need to provide birth certificates, proof of residency and pay the balance of the registration fee MUST provide this at the tryouts. Parents who did not receive their hamburger sale tickets when they registered their child(ren) may pick them up at tryouts also.

DLL will NOT be holding any registrations at the tryouts.
