Bulldog tracksters third in tri-meet

The Douglas Bulldog track team came in third at a triangular meet in Nogales last week.

The Apaches finished first with 86 points, Rio Rico was second with 42 and Douglas third with 28.

Alphonso Mejia finished first in both the 100-meters with a time of 11.4 seconds and the 300 intermediate hurdles posting a time of 41.7 seconds.

Ralph Carrillo finished fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles recording a time of 18.4 seconds; Brandon Moreno was fourth in the 400-meters finishing with a time of 54.8 seconds.

The Bulldogs 4x100 relay team of Mejia, Dillon Guerrero and Jose and Brandon Moreno came in second with a time of 45.4 seconds.

Jason Linden was second in the shot put with a throw of 37-feet; Manuel Diaz was third in the discus with a throw of 110’5”.

Gabriel Aguilar and Luis Padilla placed third and fourth respectively in the high jump with jumps of 5’4” and 4’6” while in the triple jump Mark Romero was third with a jump of 35’2” and Padilla fourth with a 34’6”.

Padilla also placed fourth in the long jump with a 17’8”.
