Hundreds of local kids ages 1-8 spent Saturday morning picking up all kinds of goodies off the Douglas High School football field during the 13th Annual Easter egg hunt.

Volunteers spent close to an hour spreading lots of candy and various prizes in three different sections only to have it picked up in just a matter of minutes.

Many of the plastic eggs had prizes in them which the kids were able to turn in for prizes.

In order to avoid confusion the Easter egg hunt was done in three different stages this year with the 1-3 year olds going first followed by the 4-6 then the 7-8.

Even with the different stages the entire event was over in just over 30 minutes.

Event organizers would like to thank all those volunteers who helped out with the event along with the participating local merchants which included Wick Communications, the Douglas Dispatch, the Douglas Unified School District, the City of Douglas, Cox Cable, Wal-Mart, H&R Block, Devore Auto, La Familia, Bling Blings, Palo Verde Stop-N-Go, Brown & Page Mortuary, Maddux and Sons, Coqui Children’s Center, LLC and Ortega’s Inc.

The headline photo shows we have some massive 8 year olds in our town LOL...

Nothing but smiles and dust clouds at the event... "
