Ralph Anthony Torres TORRES, RALPH ANTHONY, 87, formerly of Douglas, Arizona and a Tucson resident for the last 21 years, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2012. Born on January 17, 1925 in Pearce, Arizona, he is survived by his wife Verna J. Torres; daughter, Rosemari Torres and son-in-law Richard Acevedo; son, Jerry Torres and daughter-in-law Rita; step-daughters Sharon Allen and Ellen Doherty and sisters Nellie Segovia of Green Valley, Arizona and Alice Wright of San Diego, California. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews; and Tata to Travis Allen and Shawn Doherty. He and his wife lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 16 years before making Tucson their home. Ralph proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II, as a Motor Machinist Mate, 2nd Class. He was a member of the Arizona Carpenter’s Union and worked as a carpenter until his retirement. He will be missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service and Rosary at the East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery Chapel, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, Arizona, will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association of Tucson, 5325 E. Pima Street, Tucson, Arizona 85712-3600.
