On 10th Street and Adams Ave. a trampoline left the back yard of one residence, cleared a 20-foot high power line on 10th Street and landed on a truck across the street.
Part of the canopy cover on the drive thru at the Caffenio Coffee Shop, was damaged by the winds and the Food City carnival that was in town for the weekend had one of its tarps blow off and a port-a-pot blow over. They shut things down a day earlier than announced due to the bad weather.
While emergency crews were scurrying around town trying to handle all the calls a report of a gas leak on 3rd Street came in.
All these reports came in a two-hour period which had emergency crews scrambling and wondering what the rest of the day was going to bring. Fortunately the winds died down around noon resulting in a quiet Sunday afternoon.
The National Weather Service is reporting wind gusts topped out at 53 miles per hour. Local emergency personnel who were out in the wind said the gusts were much higher.
