Local McDonald’s going through some changes
Has new design; to be open 24/7

McDonalds General Manager Jesus Castillo has announced that McDonald’s on Fifth Street has decided to go through some changes to better serve the community.

First, Castillo said, that in past months, McDonald’s Owner Operator LeAnn Richards approved a nationwide remodeling process of the McDonald’s stores to make the eating experience more comfortable for the customer, besides of keeping the stores at a top-quality service in every aspect.

In Douglas, the remodeling process began on March 4 and ended on April 16.

Remodeling of the store included new bathrooms’ design, replacement of wall graphics and wall coverings, replacement of lights and tables, the remove mosaic tile and repaint surfaces, a total remodeling of the private party room with the addition of a wall-mounted television on the room, the removal of the center column that was at the cash registers, the creation of an entrance to the games room through the tables room, and a total repaint and new design of the exterior walls with the inclusion of new luminous signs, plus the removal of the roof’s tile to convert it into an square roof. Finally, a new drive-thru section was created to eliminate long lines outside of the store.

Castillo also announced a change in the business hours. According to him, McDonald’s will extend its hours to be open 24 hours and remain open seven days a week, which will allow customers to eat any day, any time inside the store and not only through the drive-thru at midnight as it was usual in the past. The new change was implemented starting from April 16.

Grand opening

To celebrate in a closer way with the community and as a way to express McDonald’s gratitude for its customers’ patience while the remodeling process, the company will be offering a Grand Opening Party on May 6 from 2-6 p.m. At the grand opening, Ronald McDonald will be at the store to share a moment with kids and family.
