Local Sprint store closes

Due to an expiration of the contract with the national company, the Douglas´ Sprint Store closed its doors April 2.

Felipe McGrew, manager of Sprint in Douglas said they had been working with Sprint since 1993 and all staff members and himself enjoyed been part of the company up to the last day.

He also said Sprint will continue to provide services locally and regionally but it will be through national companies such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy and others.

McGrew also informed that he and current staff are working to open their own phone-services store this month at the Food City Plaza.

“We will be open probably by April 9 and we will offer pre-paid phones from Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile,” McGrew said. “We want to keep providing a high-quality service to the community and we will make our best effort to do so.”
