At the Jerry Lee Benson Invitational April 17 the Bulldogs finished fifth out of 10 teams. Benson was first with 151 points, Safford second with 133, Thatcher third with 97, St. Augustine fourth with 76 and Douglas fifth with 71.5.

Mejia also won the 300-intermediate hurdles finishing with a time of 40.6; Moreno fifth with a 46.5 and Rafael Carrillo seventh with a 48.5”.
In the 110-meter high hurdles Rafael Carrillo came in fourth place with a time of 18.20 seconds, Ernesto Moreno fifth with a 19.6 and Ulysis Villalobos sixth with a 20.2.
Jesse Moreno and Gabriel Aguilar finished fourth and sixth in the pole vault with vaults of 9’6” and 9’ respectively.
Jesus Ayala placed eighth in the 200 with a 20.2; Adan Macias was fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 35’11”; Dante Diaz was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 36’7”; Israel Andrade finished sixth in the 800 finishing with a time of 2:17 and Ricky Larez placed third in the 1600 with a time of 4:59.1.
Douglas’ 4x400 relay team of Larez, Mejia and the two Moreno’s came in third with a time of 3:42.
The Bulldogs 4x800 relay team of Larez, Stewart Hernandez, Andrade and Gustavo Melendez placed fourth finishing with a time of 9:10.8.
On April 18 Douglas hosted a JV meet at DHS.
CDO was first with 58 points. Sahuarita second with 40 and Douglas third with 38.
In the 110 meter high hurdles Carrillo came in second with a time of 18 seconds. Villalobos was fourth with a 20.3.
Carrillo was second in the 300-intermediate hurdles finishing with a time of 47.3. He was fourth in the 200 finishing with a time of 28.7 seconds.
Melendez finished third in the 1600 posting a time of 5:20.
Luis Padilla won the long jump with a jump of 18’1”. Villalobos was second with a 17’2”.
Padilla finished fourth in the high jump with a jump of 5’2” and he was second in the triple jump with a 36’4”.
In the discus Diaz was second with a throw of 107’; Luis Barraza third with a throw of 103’ and Marco Toscano fourth with a throw of 94’.
Diaz and Toscano were second and fourth in the shot put with throws of 36’ and 33’9” respectively.
