The Douglas Lady Bulldogs track team finished third out of 10 teams at the Jerry Lee Benson Invitational last week.

In the 100-meters Barbara Jordan came in second with a time of 13.39 seconds moving her up on the state list.
Jordan moved up on the state list after finishing fourth in the 200-meters with a time of 27.91.
Danitza Ozuna’s throw of 28’6” gave her seventh place.
Emily Castillo finished seventh in the discus with a throw of 81’10”.
Angelica Trejo’s time of 6:28 in the 1600 gave her fourth place.
Douglas’ 4x100 relay team of Zenaida Parra, Barbra Jordan, Melissa Rodriquez, Kayla Fields came in first. Their time was not available.
In the 300-meter low hurdles Kayla Fields came in third with a 50.87 and Melissa Rodriguez was fifth with a 52.67.
Fields placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 18.26 seconds.
Karla Loreto finished fourth in the 800 posting a time of 2:47.
Douglas’ 4x800 relay team of Loreto, Trejo, Laura Blair and Marilyn Grijalva came in second place. Their time was not available.
Grijalva finished sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:10.
Douglas’ 4x400 relay team of Rodriquez, Jordan, Grijalva and Fields came in first – with a time of 4:27.
“It was worth the wait to have this meet on Tuesday with better weather,” Douglas’ coach Donna Savill said. “We were able to move several of our girls up on the state list and some that qualified for state for the first time.”
