Youth empowerment fair at DHS

In order to illustrate the youth about the importance of making the right choices to make a difference in their future, Cenpatico Behavorial Health of Arizona, the Department of Economic Security and the Douglas High School will offer a Youth Empowerment Fair on May 9, from 10:30-2:30 p.m. at the High School Gymnasium.


It is expected that a total of 628 students will be attending to the event.

The fair is an opportunity to offer youth information on behavioral health services, employers, educational resources, volunteer opportunities and summer activities available in the community. Some agencies will participate by offering information about their services, as well as conducting free health screenings to some students.

Some of the participating agencies include DES Vocational Rehabilitation, Cochise College educational info, U.S. Border Patrol, Douglas Library, House of Hope, Brain Injury Association of Arizona, Bahals of Cochise County, Pinal Hispanic Council, CA/PPT/WPC, Dept. of State, Community Intervention Associates, Lutheran Social Services, Mexican Consulate, PPEP Tech High School, Cochise County Juvenile Court Services (Probation), Douglas Police Department, Telefutura KFTU/Univision, City of Douglas, Douglas Coalition, University of Arizona, Cenpatico and others.
