Ramon “Zurdo”Rios Arevalo of Douglas passed away on April 22, 2012 at his home.



Ramon was born on September 17, 1945 to Edward and Loretta Arevalo in Douglas, AZ. His loving wife Ana Arevalo of 38 years of marriage survives and sons Michael Ray Arevalo and Gabriel Edward Arevalo. Also surviving are his brothers Armando Arevalo, Rudy Arevalo, Hector Arevalo, David Arevalo, Edward Arevalo and sisters Mary Arvizu and Clara Lucero. He leaves behind one grandchild. Zurdo taught at Paul Huber Jr. High, Cochise College and PPTEC. He was an avid softball player, loved gardening and helping others succeed.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 27, 2012-10:00 a.m. in the main chapel of Alex Espinosa Douglas Funeral Home, 1860-8th Street. Burial will follow with military honors in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ray Arevalo, Gabriel Edward Arevalo, David Arevalo, Hector Arevalo, Rudy Arevalo and Jose Luis Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Cordova, Pablo Noriega Jr., Pablo Noriega Sr., Johnny Dominguez, Edmundo Ybarra Jr., and Andres Jacquez. Care entrusted to Alex Espinosa Douglas Funeral Home, 364-2121, Alex Espinosa Funeral Director.
