Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Spokane Washington. Tom entered the Navy in Point Magu, California and then started his career with J.C. Penney Co. in Oxnard, California.

Tom married Margaret “Peggy” Lynn Feldman in 1961 and they had two children, son, Robert (Jani) Savage and his children, Zack, Tanner and Madison and son, James Savage and his children Calvin and Tana. In 1969 Tom transferred to J.C. Penney in Bisbee and in 1974 moved to Douglas.

During his J.C. Penney days, he was well known for passing out balloons to kids at the store. He was divorced in 1986. He then married his high school sweetheart, Fran Nevdahl, 43 years later. They enjoyed 10 years together until her passing. Tom loved the beauty of Southern Arizona and the cool climate of the Pend Oreille River in Spokane, coffee with friends, helping others and tending to his cats, dog and don’t forget the turtles.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Mass was held in Douglas Friday, April 13 followed by a reception at the Gadsden Hotel.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane Washington.

Arrangements by Bring’s Memorial Chapel, bringfuneralhome.com.
