Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Tucson Field Office referred 22-year-old Alpan Prasad and her 20-year-old sister, Alina, for a secondary inspection of their GMC Jimmy after a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs.
Officers later removed the front axle and found multiple packages of heroin duct-taped inside the axle. The drugs, valued at $332,000, and vehicle were processed for seizure. The sisters were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
