The Douglas Bulldog and Lady Bulldog track teams were in Tucson last week for a track meet.

In the boys meet Vista Grande came in first with 99 points, Douglas was second with 39 and Amphi third with 25.
Vista Grande also won the girls meet with 59 points while Douglas was second with 40, Amphi third with 16 and Greenfields finished with 7 points.
In the boys meet Douglas’ 4x800 relay team of Gustavo Melendez, Ricky Larez, Stewart Hernandez and Israel Andrade came in first with a time of 9:24.
Rafael Carrillo and Santos Armenta finished second and third in the high hurdles with times of 18.68 and 18.69 seconds respectively.
Larez finished third in the 1600 recording a time of 5:05 while Andrade was fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:18.
In the high jump Luis Padilla and Adan Macias tied for fourth with jumps of 4’10”. Padilla finished fourth in the long jump with a 16’10”.
In the triple jump Padilla was second with a 35’3”; Macias third with a 35’1” and Mark Romero fourth with a 34’6”.
Alphonso Mejia won the 100-meters with a time of 11.4. He also won the 300-intermediate hurdles with a 40.4 while Armenta was fourth with a 47.1.
Jose Moreno placed third in the 400 with a time of 55.9; Jesus Ayala was fourth in the 200 with a 24.8 and Dante Diaz fourth in the discus with a throw of 107’3”.
The Bulldogs 4x400 relay team of Mejia, Larez, Andrade and Moreno were second with a time of 3:44.
In the girls meet Barbara Jordan was second in the 100-meters with a time of 13.3. She won the 200 with a 28.0 and was second in the 400 with a 66.3.
Angie Trejo finished second in the 1600 with a time of 6:16 while Karla Loreto was fourth with a 6:36.
Marisela Palma finished third in the long jump with a 12’6”; Danitza Ozuna was first in the shot put with a throw of 27’6.”
Loreto won the 800 with a 2:46 while Blair was second with a 2:48 and Trejo fourth with a 2:52.
In the discus Christina Melendez was first with a throw of 81’; Emily Castillo was second with a throw of 80’ and Ozuna fourth with a throw of 66’.
The Bulldog and Lady Bulldog track teams are at home today and again next Wednesday. Today they run against Buena and Rincon; next week it’s against Sahuarita and CDO.
Around those meets there are two invitationals at Benson and one at Safford.
