Lady Bulldogs skid continues Douglas Dispatch The Douglas Lady Bulldogs suffered two more loses last week extending their skid to four straight games. Douglas fell to Cienega 12-2 on April 17 and 13-4 to Buena two days later. Both games were played at Douglas High School. Details from the games were not available from the Douglas coaches. The Lady Bulldogs wrap up their regular season this week with a road game at Benson. Then it’s a waiting game to see where the Lady Bulldogs will fit in with the upcoming post season playoffs. Junior varsity The Douglas JV’s knocked off Buena’s JV’s 5-3 last week. Samantha Gonzales was the winning pitcher allowing three runs off three hits while fanning 13 and walking three. Jocelyn Vasquez hit 2 for 3, Jasmine Rojas was 1 for 3 and Maricela Holguin Torres 1 for 4. “It was a good game,” Douglas’ Coach Lorena Tapia said. Everything went our way. The girls had a tremendous outing. Samantha was great on the mound.” With the win Douglas improves to 8-4.
