James Roger Wilson passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Arizona after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on March 6, 1922 in Arlington, Massachusetts to William and Alda Morrisey Wilson. James enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served as a pharmacist’s mate and was assigned to duty on the USS Tennessee battleship. He received his honorable discharge in 1945. James worked for Safeway in Phoenix, Safford, Coolidge and in 1959, in Douglas. In 1966 he went to work at the Ft. Huachuca Commissary retiring in 1987. James enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Cliff Wilson. He is survived by his wife Marion Wilson of Douglas, daughters Kathleen Weiss of Fullerton, California, Sandy O’Neil of Tucson, Arizona, Rebecca Wilson of Douglas, Arizona, Amy Wilson of New York City, New York; Grandchildren Zachary Wilson (Janette) of Georgia, Sean O’Neil of Tucson, Arizona, Stephanie O’Neil of Guam and great-grandson Devon of Guam.
