Councilman Huish provides update on his health Dear Editor, Please accept this letter as information about my recent health problem. Without going into detail, I suffered from a pulmonary embolism which is blood clot in the lungs, depriving the lungs of oxygen. Thanks to the helicopter flight crew they were able to get me to Tucson Medical Center before I expired, and after spending a number of days in intensive care, where they eventually saved my life. After spending a month at a rehabilitation facility I have been able to come home, and am doing well. I still can’t walk without a walker, but my legs are getting stronger. But the real purpose of this letter is to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the visits, phone calls, cards and prayers expressed by you the great and caring people of the City of Douglas, my friends and associates. Please, through your newspaper let the people know that I deeply appreciate all that has been done in my behalf and hope that in some way I can return the love and concern that has been shown by my friends and associates. Sincerely, Ivan Huish, Councilman, Ward 5.
