Lady Bulldogs land post season honors

Douglas High School’s Girls Basketball Coach Clint Hill announced last week that four members of his basketball team have landed postseason honors for their performances this past season.


Senior Nythzia Machado was named to the honorable mention All-State team by the Arizona Republic; she was also named to the Division II Section I second team and she was named to the Arizona Daily Star’s second team which features the top 10 players in southern Arizona.

Junior Karina Avechuco was named to the third team Section II, Division I squad by the Republic and she landed honorable mention honors for the Arizona Daily Star’s All-Southern Arizona team.

Junior Aleen Nunez was named to the Arizona Republic’s “Best of the Rest” squad for Division II, Section I in addition to landing honorable mention honors for the Arizona Daily Star’s All-Southern Arizona team.

Junior Linda Lopez was named to the honorable mention squad for the Arizona Daily Star’s All-Southern Arizona team.
